Její matce bylo pouhých čtrnáct let, když otěhotněla. Hollyini rodiče
se sice vzali, ale po pouhých dvou letech se rozvedli. Navzdory tomu
všemu se však o ni matka dobře starala. Když jí bylo osm, přestěhovali
se s matkou do New Yorku, kde se Holly začala ve škole učit herectví.
Svou kariéru začala v deseti letech vystupováním v televizních reklamách. V třinácti letech si zahrála malou roli ve filmu Sweet Hearts Dance, kde hrály třeba Don Johnson a Susan Sarandonová. Další role hrála třeba v New York Stories, The
